It was announced Friday that goalie Marc-Andre Fleury and the Vegas Golden Knights have agreed to a three-year, $21 million contract extension that will keep Fleury in Vegas through the 2021-22 NHL season.
Last season Fleury recorded a 29-13-4 record with a career best 2.24 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage in net for the most successful expansion club in NHL history, and was selected to his third NHL All-Star team. During the postseason he again recorded a 2.24 GAA while leading the Golden Knights all the way to the Stanley Cup Final.
“I guess you guys will be stuck with me for a little longer,” said Fleury via a video posted on the team’s Twitter account. “I’m really excited about it. My family and I really love Vegas, the organization, my teammates.”

Fleury had 1 year left on his contract before this 3-year extension.

The first overall pick of the 2003 NHL Draft, Fleury has a career record of 404-229-70 with a 2.56 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage. His 404 career wins ranks 11th in NHL history, and he also is a three-time Stanley Cup champion (2009, 2016, 2017) with Pittsburgh.
Vegas fans will most certainly be thrilled with the contract extension and to have one of the league’s premier net minders remain with the club. After a record-setting expansion season winning the Pacific Division and the Western Conference, the Golden Knights look to return to the playoffs in 2018-19. Vegas begins the preseason September 16 vs. Arizona and begins the regular season on home ice against Philadelphia on Thursday, October 4.
