College Football Playoff Rankings: Top 5 Teams Stay Same; TCU, Miami, Wisconsin Make Big Jumps

College Football Playoff

With no upsets among the top 5 teams last week, there wasn’t any surprises among the top teams during the second edition of the College Football Playoff Rankings, but there was plenty of movement after that with several Big 12 schools looking to help the conference avoid missing out on another playoff.

Georgia still remains atop the rankings followed by fellow SEC rival Alabama. The Bulldogs have already clinched the SEC East title and are currently waiting to see if they will meet the Crimson title for the SEC Championship game in Atlanta.

Notre Dame checks in at the No. 3 spot followed by Clemson. If the season ended today, the Bulldogs would face the Tigers and the Crimson Tide would face the Irish in the other semifinals matchup.

Oklahoma remains on the outside looking in despite a road win at then-No. 11 Oklahoma State. The Sooners do have another chance to impress the Playoff Committee when they host No. 6 TCU. Miami comes in at No. 7 with its win over then-No. 13 Virginia Tech, while Wisconsin check in at No. 8 and Washington and Auburn round out the Top 10.
