The fourth week of the College Football Playoff rankings brought plenty of changes after several Top 10 teams fell last week.
Ohio State jumped over LSU to come in at No. 1 with its win over Penn State. LSU checked in at No. 2 followed by No. 3 Clemson, No. 4 Georgia and No. 5 Alabama. While there wasn’t much shakeup with the top 5 teams, the race for the No. 4 spot is heating up as we near the end of the season with rivalry week and conference championship games.
Right now, a half dozen 1-loss teams are all vying for the final playoff spot should LSU, Ohio State and Clemson win out. Those with the greatest shot, include Utah, Oklahoma and Alabama.

The Crimson Tide won’t be playing in a conference championship game so the Utes and Sooners have arguably the best shot if they can win out.
Utah moved up a spot to check in at No. 6 following another dominating performance on both sides of the ball in a 35-7 blowout win over Arizona. The Utes haven’t allowed more than seven points in five of their last six games and have outscored their opponents 263-61 since losing to USC in September.
If the Utes can beat Colorado on Saturday, they’ll face Oregon in the Pac-12 title game. The Ducks dropped eight spots after falling to Arizona State on the road. The loss was a tough one for the Pac-12 as Oregon’s loss will diminish Utah’s win, should the Utes take care of business against the Ducks in the Pac-12 title game.
Oklahoma, which has two more games against ranked opponents to finish the season jumped to No. 7 followed by No. 8 Minnesota, No. 9 Baylor and No. 10 Penn State.
