Hot-Shooting Warriors Rout Cavs In Game 1 Of NBA Finals

So much for all the hype.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were no match for the Golden State Warriors as the Cavs looked to defend their crown after becoming the first team in NBA history to overcome 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals last year.

The hot-shooting Warriors broke the game open in the third quarter to take a commanding 93-72 lead en route to an easy 113-91 victory.

Kevin Durant led the way for Golden State as he poured in a game-high 38 points to go with eight rebounds and eight assists. Steph Curry chipped in with a double-double with 28 points and 10 assists. He was also hot from downtown going 6-for-11, including a highlight-worthy jumper over LeBron that had the crowd on its feet as you can see in the video below.

LeBron James did his part as he led the Cavs with a double-double with 28 points and 15 rebounds. James nearly had a triple-double coming just two assists shy. Kryie Irving added 24 points but had more turnovers (4) than assists (2). Kevin Love was just 4-of-13 from the field but did have 15 points and a game-high 21 rebounds in the loss.

The Cavs will look to tie the series up on Sunday in Game 2.
