Jamaal Williams — BYU’s all-time leading rusher — continues to impress as the rookie running back put on another show on Sunday to lead the Green Bay Packers to a 27-21 overtime victory over the Cleveland Browns.

After injuries to running backs Ty Montgomery and Aaron Jones, Williams has not only stepped up over the past month, but has arguably become the Packers’ featured back and the future of the franchise after totaling more than 100 yards for the third consecutive game.

After being named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week after rushing for had a career-high 113 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown in the Packers’ 26-20 overtime win last week — and becoming just the first BYU running back to rush for over 100 yards in the NFL since 1984 — Williams followed it up with 118 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns on Sunday.

With star quarterback Aaron Rodgers still out with a broken collarbone, defenses have been able to load up the box to stop the run knowing they don’t have to worry about Rodgers’ pin-point passes coming their way.

So when Williams lined up as a receiver, the Brown defense didn’t think much of it until they were burned by the former BYU star who hauled in a 30-yard touchdown pass from Brett Hundley.

Williams then followed up his second touchdown of the day which came on a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 21-14 with just over 12 minutes to go in the game.

With the playoffs starting this week, many fantasy players were kicking and screaming after not starting Williams. Meanwhile on the other side, fantasy owners were celebrating another huge day from the former BYU running back.

Despite Jones being back, Williams took most of the carries and is expected to be the No. 1 guy again next week as the Packers go on the road to take on the Carolina Panthers.

Here is what Twitter had to say about Williams’ big day:
