It wasn’t exactly how Tennessee players, coaches, or fans envisioned it, but at the end of the day, a win is a win.

Coming into Saturday’s showdown between No. 14 Tennessee and No. 19 Florida, the Vols were looking to end an 11-game series losing streak against the Gators.

It didn’t look like a victory was going to happen until a furious comeback helped the Vols come out with a 38-28 come-from-behind victory at Neyland Stadium. The three-touchdown deficit also matched the third-biggest comeback in Vols history.

Just like they have all year, Tennesee needed another second half comeback after the team was booed off the field at halftime.

Florida took a three-touchdown lead on a pair of Austin Appleby touchdown passes and a 1-yard touchdown run by Jordan Scarlett. Both of the touchdown passes were set up by big plays from wideout Antonio Callaway.

But after numerous comeback attempts fell short in the 11-game series losing streak, this time the Vols finished things off as they rolled off 38 consecutive points.

Tennessee pulled ahead for good as quarterback Joshua Dobbs found Jauan Jennings for a 67-yard touchdown. Jennings, who initially bobbled the ball a few times down the sideline, got control before taking it to the house.

A drop would have summed up the feelings of the 11-game series losing streak, but this time was different as the Vols held on to move to 4-0 on the year and now lead the SEC East.
