Peyton Manning Considers Joining Carolina Panthers Ownership Group

What is Peyton Manning going to do next?

From his memorable commercials with ESPN, Papa Johns, DirecTV, and MasterCard, the future NFL Hall-of-Famer has turned down coaching positions, sports analyst and broadcast positions.

But after winning Super Bowl 50 and announcing his retirement after 18 seasons, Manning may not be done with the NFL after all.

Reports have surfaced that the five-time MVP quarterback is considering an offer to become part of the potential Panthers ownership group led by billionaire Ben Navarro. Yes, the Panthers, the team he beat in Super Bowl 50 to end his career.

Manning, 42, is an attractive option for Navarro due to his NFL track record, earnings and his marketable persona from his football career and numerous endorsement deals.

NFL officials were hopeful the Panthers’ new ownership could be chosen at the spring meeting in Atlanta on May 21-23, but the uncertainty surrounding the identity of the bidders may delay the vote.

Navarro is reportedly offering $2.6 billion for the purchase of the Panthers. It has been estimated that Manning’s net worth was well over $200 million last year.
