Major League Soccer announced its All-Star roster on Monday, with Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando being one of the two players chosen by commissioner Don Garber to represent MLS in this year’s All-Star Game.

Rimando is in his 20th and final season in MLS, his 13th with Real Salt Lake.

Named the “Wall of the Wasatch” by RSL fans, Rimando is Major League Soccer’s all-time leader in games played (497), wins (213), shutouts (146) and saves (1662). This selection is his ninth all-star selection, eighth with RSL.

“For someone who owns virtually every statistical goalkeeping record in MLS History, it’s only logical that Nick is a part of the 2019 MLS All Star Game,” RSL Head Coach Mike Petke said. “From 2000-2019 his body of work speaks for itself.”

A two-time MLS Cup champion, Rimando led RSL to the 2009 title, winning MLS Cup MVP honors. He has also been chosen as the MLS Save of the Year Award winner in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

The MLS All-Stars will take on La Liga side Atlético Madrid on July 31 at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. MT and can be seen on FS1.
