It was a comeback for the ages!

Standing on his own 20-yard line, with just 17 seconds in the game and without any timeouts, BYU sophomore quarterback Zach Wilson dropped back to pass — and with the game on the line — threw a strike to Micah Simon who split two defenders before being taken down on the Tennessee 16-yard line.

The play setup Jake Oldroyd’s 33-yard field goal which sent the game into overtime.

After both teams traded touchdowns in the first overtime, the Cougar defense held the Vols to a field goal to setup the dramatic finish. After Aleva Hifo broke off a 13-yard run on a reverse on the first play for the Cougars, senior running back Ty’Son Williams needed just two carries later to find the end zone and got some extra help from his offensive line too.

It was a wild ending as the Cougars came-from-behind to stun the 92,475 fans inside Neyland Stadium.
