Sunday’s Super Bowl game between New England and Atlanta was one for the ages.

Tom Brady, the game’s Most Valuable Player, set a Super Bowl record with 466 passing yards as the Patriots rallied from a 25-point deficit in the third quarter to beat the Falcons, 34-28, in overtime.

Not only was it the first Super Bowl game in NFL history, but New England also set a record for the biggest Super Bowl comeback after scoring 31 unanswered points in the second half.

Atlanta led 28-3 midway through the third quarter before quarterback Matt Ryan — who was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player for the 2016 season — fumbled the ball after taking a big hit. It was the first time the Falcons had turned the ball over in the playoffs.

From that moment on, the comeback was on.

Brady forced overtime after leading the Patriots down the field for two touchdowns as well as two 2-point conversions to tie the game up. The game-tying score was led by wide receiver Julian Edelman who made one of the most ridiculous catches you will ever see.

With the win, Brady became the most decorated player after winning his fifth Super Bowl and led New England to a league-leading ninth appearance in the Big Game. New England head coach Belichick also surpassed Chuck Noll and now has the most Super Bowl wins by a head coach.

With the loss, Atlanta has yet to win a Super Bowl after making its second appearance in the championship game.

The MVP curse continues with Ryan becoming the eighth player since 2000 to lose in the Super Bowl despite being named the league’s MVP. Also, a victory Sunday would have made Ryan just the seventh player in NFL history to earn MVP honors and win the Super Bowl in the same season.

Gisele, Tom Brady’s wife, was pretty excited about the win as cameras caught her lovely reaction after the Patriots scored the game-winning touchdown.
