Needing a win to become bowl eligible, Utah picked the perfect time to play arguably its best game of the season Saturday night at Rice-Eccles Stadium in front of an announced crowd of 46,022.

Senior captain Troy Williams — who filled in for injured starting quarterback Tyler Huntley — completed 15 of 24 passes for 181 yards and rushed for 26 yards and two touchdowns to lead Utah to a dominating 34-13 victory over Colorado on Senior Night.

Sophomore running back Zack Moss had a career-night as the 5-foot-10, 210-pounder rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns on just 26 carries. Moss also added a 25-yard reception in the win. With his career-night, Moss surpassed 1,000 yards for the season to continue the running back tradition as the Utes have now had a 1,000-yard rusher in four consecutive seasons and six of the past seven.

“My family was here, and I just wanted to put on a good performance for them,” Williams said. … “I just wanted to make them proud. At the end of the day, regardless of what I’ve been though, I’m blessed to be alive and just be here going to school, playing football.”

For their performance, both Moss and Williams were presented with a game ball after helping the Utes reach bowl eligibility. Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham will head to his 12 bowl game at Utah and looks to extend his record bowl-winning percentage thanks to his 10-1 record.
