Utah Ranked No. 15 In Coaches Poll, Highest Preseason Ranking In Program History

The College football season is just a couple weeks away and Thursday’s preseason Amway Coaches Poll had a lot of Ute fans smiling.

The Utes checked in at No. 15 — its highest preseason ranking in school history! Utah, which received 642 points, is one of five Pac-12 teams in the top 25, along with No. 12 Washington (834), No. 13 Oregon (787), No. 21 Washington State (274) and No. 23 Stanford (200).

Coming into today, Utah’s highest preseason ranking was No. 18 back in 2009 following the Utes’ perfect season in which they went 13-0 and crushed Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

Despite Washington (No. 12) and Oregon (No. 13) ranking higher in the preseason poll, the Utes are still the favorites in the Pac-12 as they were picked to not only win the South Division, but the Pac-12 Championship too during Pac-12 Media Day last week.
