The NBA released the Utah Jazz 2022-23 schedule, and while we aren’t even really sure at this point who will even suit up for the team next season, there are still some intriguing matchups on tap.
Season Opener
The Jazz tip off the regular season on Oct. 19, at home, against two-time MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
National Broadcasts
It appears the league is well aware that the Jazz will likely not be very good next year. The team only has four national TV broadcasts, three of which are on NBA TV. This is a dramatic drop after the Jazz had 26 games on national television last year, including a game on Christmas day.
The lone TNT matchup sees Utah play the Knicks at home on Nov. 15. A very interesting note here. The Knicks aren’t good, and it is likely that the Jazz won’t be either. So why would this game ever be put on national television? Seems like the NBA is banking on Donovan Mitchell ending up in the Big Apple.
The Jazz’s three NBA TV matchups are at Portland on Nov. 19, at the Clippers on Nov. 21, and at home against Washington on Dec. 22.

Top 10 Home Games
While the Jazz have some attractive matchups on the road, the ones fans might actually be able to attend are the home games at Vivint Arena.
The first intriguing matchup takes place on Nov. 7, when LeBron James and the Lakers come to town. Will the Lakers be any good this year? Who knows, but LeBron chasing the all-time scoring record will be a good distraction if they aren’t.
The December portion of the schedule has a few highlights. Portland comes to Salt Lake with Weber State alum Damian Lillard on Dec. 3, while the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors make their lone appearance at The Viv on Dec. 7. Rudy Gobert then makes his return to SLC when the Jazz face the Timberwolves on Dec. 9.
The Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic then make a stop in town on Jan. 28 after knocking Utah out of the playoffs last season. They then return to Salt Lake for a rematch on Feb. 6.
March is highlighted by a game against last season’s Finals runners-up Celtics on the 18th, then a second matchup with Lillard and the Trailblazers on the 22nd. Just two days later, longtime fan favorite Joe Ingles returns to Utah with the Bucks on March 24.
During the last month of the season, the Lakers make an appearance on April 4.
Home Finale
The Jazz finish the home portion of its schedule the same way it started, facing the division rival Nuggets on April 9.
How To Watch Jazz Basketball
If you want to see a game in person, single-game tickets go on sale to the public on Monday, August 22.
In terms of TV options, the choices are the same as last season. In other words, not great.
The Jazz again have no option to stream the games, while Dish Network also dropped the AT&T Sportsnet channel in 2021.
Choices to view the Jazz games include via cable on Xfinity and DirecTV, or through the DirecTV Stream and FuboTV streaming services.
