It was a win for the ages!
In fact, it was arguably the biggest regular-season win in BYU basketball history.
Led by Dallin Hall and Jaxson Robinson — who combined for 36 points — BYU went on the road and took down No. 7 Kansas in front of a sellout crowd of 16,300 fans inside Allen Fieldhouse.
The win snapped multiple home winning streaks for the Jayhawks who not only saw their 19-game home winning streak end, but also their 67-game home winning streak against unranked opponents. In addition, the Jayhawks also saw their 82-game home winning streak end when leading at the half.
Kansas came into the game as 7.5 point favorites.

“All of us are lifelong college basketball fans,” said BYU head coach Mark Pope after the game. “This arena, this team, this coach, these players — you know, it’s an all-time mecca. I think that’s what makes this special. We talk about faith in our program, and certainly it is an important part of our university, and watching our guys’ faith in each other tonight and faith in the process was special to watch.”
Despite trailing by 12 points in the second half, the Cougars battled back thanks to a bunch of 3-pointers. BYU took it’s first lead at 59-58 on two free throws by Hall with just under 5 minutes to play. The sophomore point guard then added two more 3-pointers to help the Cougars pull away in one of the toughest venues of all of college basketball. The victory marked another signature win for the Cougars in their first season in the Big 12.
“BYU was better than us,” said Kansas head coach Bill Self who is now 313-18 at home. “After we go up 12, the second half — they controlled it. We hoped to score. They actually ran offense to score. So give them credit.”
Here’s all the reactions from players, media members and fans after the game:
Hats off to BYU, first season in the Big 12, knocking off a Top 10 Kansas team in Lawrence.

BYU is going to do it. Crazy impressive performance at Kansas. Really like this BYU team. Won’t be surprised if they’re in the Final 4

FINAL: BYU 76, No. 7 Kansas 68. In Lawrence.
Stunner in the Big 12. Jayhawks blow 12-point second-half lead, lose at home for first time all season. Offense just isn’t the same w/o Kevin McCullar Jr.
Dallin Hall and Jaxson Robinson huge in second half for BYU. Team made 13 3s.

Big 12 has had a heavy homecourt advantage this season — but in the last four days Houston has won at Baylor, Baylor has won at TCU, OU has won at OK State, BYU has won at Kansas and Texas is waxing Texas Tech in Lubbock. https://t.co/Sks2uRe2SS

Until tonight, Kansas had only lost 17 home games in the last 20 years! 🤯 This BYU team is a SQUAD!

I honestly can't believe how LOUD the #BYU fans are in Allen Fieldhouse. Can't be more than 1,000 of them. But they are definitely heard… and being boo'd by Kansas fans for chanting "B-Y-U… B-Y-U."#BYUSN

If I could eliminate just one game off the schedule, it'd be the BYU game. The roster filled with guys that look like you typed "guy who would make threes against Kansas" into an AI-image generator. Coming off a horrible shooting performance. Hold onto your butts.

in essence, if BYU was just winning games in which it was favored, there’s no parity to showcase depth.
here, we’re seeing that BYU is legitimate. this isn’t a fluke. this is kansas we’re talking about.
and we all know they’re not overrated.

receiving texts from dudes about BYU basketball who never ever have texted me about the team. It's become must-see basketball for a lot of guys out there and the team served big-time notice tonight.

Wow… Safe to say that adding Houston, BYU, Cincinnati and UCF made the big 12 stronger and deeper than ever! (Throwing Arizona and co. into the mix next year as well.) The Big 12 is the undisputed king of college basketball!🏀 👑 👀 https://t.co/n5lBIAlZsh

I thought a 20-win season was a pipe dream this year.
Incredible job by Pope, the staff, and the team.

BYU Basketball this season has been absolutely incredible. Love this team. Love the heart they play with.

Jaxson Robinson is a beast.
His outside shot has an intense influence on this BYU team.
Over the last 11 games he’s:
18 of 38 from 3 in wins 47%
7 of 41 from 3 in losses 17%He was 3 of 21 from 3 in his last 3 road games!
He shook off the road woes and dropped it on Kansas! pic.twitter.com/1YXragLRnn
