With the NBA season just around the corner and the preseason just a few weeks away in September, I decided to catch up with former Utah Jazz players and see where they are at in their careers. Where is your favorite former Jazzman currently playing?
Carlos Arroyo (2003-05)
A ten-year NBA veteran, Arroyo is now back in his native Puerto Rico where he began his career in 1996. He has also made stops in Turkey and Spain during his long career and is a decorated member of the Puerto Rico men’s national team. Arroyo is currently playing for Cariduros de Fajardo. He is currently 10th in the BSN in scoring (16.2 PPG) and 2nd in assists (7.5 APG) and was named to the 2018 BSN All-Star Game roster.
Joel Bolomboy (2016-17)
After splitting time last season with the Bucks and their G-League affiliate Wisconsin Herd, Bolomboy is currently under contract with Wisconsin. During the 2017-18 season he was named to the G-League Midseason All-Star team. On August 8, he signed a three-year deal to play for Russian team CSKA Moscow.
Trevor Booker (2014-16)
After playing the last eight years in the NBA for five squads (Wizards, Jazz, Nets, 76ers, Pacers), Booker is reportedly on the move to China. He endeared himself to Utah fans for his hard-nosed play and this awesome trick shot.
Jeremy Evans (2010-15)
Evans dazzled Jazz fans for five years with his high-flying ability, winning the 2012 NBA Slam Dunk Contest and earning the nickname “The Human Pogo Stick.” After his time with Utah he spent time in the G-League and with the Mavericks. After spending last season with Erie in the G-League and earning a 10-day callup with the Hawks, Evans signed with Turkish club Darussafaka on August 21 for the 2018-19 campaign.
David Stockton (2018)
After a memorable end of season run with the Jazz last season, David Stockton in headed to Germany to play for Medi Bayreuth in 2018-19. The son of Hall-of-Famer John Stockton has also enjoyed stints with the Kings, in the D-League, Croatia, and New Zealand.
Boris Diaw (2016-17)
After helping Utah break a five-season playoff drought, Diaw packed his bags and headed overseas to his native France, playing for Levallois Metropolitans during the 2017-18 season. A French national team member for 17 years, Diaw has led France to a FIBA World Cup bronze medal and 4 EuroBasket medals (including gold in 2013).
Al Jefferson (2010-13)
After playing for the Celtics, Timberwolves, Jazz, Hornets, and Pacers during a 14-year NBA run, Jefferson is headed off to China, signing with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers. During a career year with Charlotte in 2013-14, he was named to the All-NBA Third Team.
Kyrylo Fesenko (2007-11)
“Big Fes” as he was known in Utah, just finished his second season with Italian club Scandone AV. For his contributions during the season, Fesenko was named to the All-Italian Serie A First Team and Serie A Center of the Year by eurobasket.com for the 2017-18 campaign.
Sundiata Gaines (2010)
Perhaps best known for his game-winner against the Cavaliers, Gaines helped the Jazz make the second round of the playoffs during his half-season tenure. After a few more short NBA stints and bouncing around the globe, he returned to Salt Lake for the 2016-17 season, this time playing for the Jazz’s G-League affiliate Salt Lake City Stars. He currently is playing for DSC Basket in Uruguay, where he was named to the All-Uruguayan LUB First Team and All-Imports Team for the 2017-18 campaign.
Diante Garrett (2013-14)
Entering his eighth season of pro basketball, Garrett has made two NBA stops and registered three stints in the D-League, while also palying in Croatia, France, Israel, Japan, and Italy. After leading Italian club Auxilium Torino to the 2018 Italian Cup title, he signed with Turkish team Tofas for the upcoming season.
Mike Harris (2013)
Entering his 14th season of pro basketball, Harris played parts of four seasons in the NBA and has enjoyed a long overseas career. He has played in Ukraine, China (9 times), Puerto Rico (6 times), and Lebanon as well as five D-League stints. He won championships in Puerto Rico, the D-League, and China and recently signed to play for the Alaska Aces of the Philippine Basketball Association.
Chris Johnson (2014-16)
After a standout collegiate career at Dayton, Johnson turned pro in 2012. Since then he has suited up for the Grizzlies, Celtics, 76ers, Jazz, and Bucks in the NBA and played for Rio Grande Valley in the D-League. After spending the last season in France, Johnson is on the move to Israel to play for Hapoel Jerusalem during the 2018-19 season.
Lou Amundson (2007)
During a ten-year NBA career, Amundson appeared in games for the Jazz, 76ers, Suns, Warriors, Pacers, Timberwolves, Bulls, Pelicans, Cavaliers, and Knicks. Since his NBA run ended, he played the 2017-18 season in the Philippines and now plays for the Kawasaki Brave Thunders in Japan.

Eric Maynor (2009)
After a storied college career at VCU, Maynor was selected by the Jazz with the 20th pick of the 2009 NBA Draft, appearing in 26 games before being traded during his rookie season. After playing for the Thunder, Blazers, Wizards, and 76ers, Maynor began his overseas career in 2015 in Italy. After a run in Russia and a return to Varese in Italy, he is now entering his second year with Italian club Orlandina.
Elijah Millsap (2014-16)
The younger brother of former Jazzman Paul Millsap, Elijah has enjoyed an eight-year career in the NBA, D-League, Israel, and the Philippines. After a short stint with the Phoenix Suns during the 2016-17 season, he is now entering his second season playing for the Iowa Wolves, the G-League affiliate of Minnesota.
Toure’ Murry (2015)
During a seven-year pro career, Murry has enjoyed NBA stints with New York, Utah, and Washington. He has also played for five teams in the D-League as well as stints in Turkey, Germany, and Greece. Murry recently signed with HKK Zrinjski Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the upcoming 2018-19 season.
Malcom Thomas (2014)
After turning pro in 2011, Thomas has been well traveled in the basketball world. With NBA stints in San Antonio, Utah, Golden State, Chicago, and Philadelphia under his belt, he also has extensive D-League experience as well as South Korea, Israel, Puerto Rico, and China. He is currently entering his second season with Russian club Khimki.
Kyle Weaver (2011)
Entering the 11th season of his career, Weaver played for Utah and Oklahoma City in the NBA with multiple D-League stints before his overseas career unfolded. He has since played in Belgium. Germany, Italy, Israel, Puerto Rico, Poland, and Greece, On August 8, Weaver signed with Lithuanian club Neptunas Klaipeda for the nexy tear.
Jeff Withey (2015-17)
Withey played two seasons for Utah during a five-season NBA run, helping lead the team to the playoffs and a division title during the 2016-17 season. After being waived by the Mavericks, he is headed to Turkey to play for Tofas with former Jazzman Diante Garrett.
Marcus Cousin (2011)
A pro since 2009, Cousin has bounced around the globe, playing in eight countries for 11 different clubs. He is currently playing for the Sendai 89ers in Japan’s B.League.
Nate Wolters (2017)
After starting his career in 2013, Wolters appeared in five games last season for the Jazz before being waved. He is now headed to Lithuania to play for Zalgiris next season. He has also played with the Bucks and Pelicans and in the G-League, Turkey, Serbia, and France.
