BYU’s offense racked up 513 yards of total offense and scored more than 40 points in three consecutive games. The last time that happened was back in 2014.
Wilson’s favorite targets were junior wide receivers Gunner Romney and Dax Milne who combined for 14 catches and 190 yards and touchdown. Romney set a career high with seven receptions and now has three consecutive games of more than 100 yards receiving. Milne has tied his career-best with seven receptions after hauling in the same amount against Troy last week.
BYU’s defense also continued to shine as the team held Louisiana Tech to just 14 points. The Bulldogs came in averaging nearly 50 points per game. The Cougar defense also forced two turnovers and had three sacks.
The Cougars also got a lot of love of Friday night with a number of national reporters talking about how great the team has looked so far.

#BYU QB Zach Wilson is scorching. Has completed 24 of 26 tonight for 325 yards and in his last two games, he's completing over 87% of his passes. Mercy.

I wasn’t expecting this but I think this is a BYU To The College Football Playoff Account

I wish @BYUfootball could play a big time power house this year. This is a complete football team – @kalanifsitake ‘s men are crushing everything in front of them.

Zach Wilson is 18-19 for 236 yards in the first half for BYU. Was he on the Dash early Heisman list this week? Yes he was. https://t.co/uSYdNdHrbY

Is BYU a potential top 4 team? No way. But are they one of the 8-10 best this year? Maybe.
— Paul Sabin (@SabinAnalytics) October 3, 2020
Zach Wilson is getting more, and more hype. https://t.co/hcCcxjs4jB

The Boise State and San Diego State games added this week are important gets. Without those games, not sure they had the schedule to be considered for the NY6. Now there is a clear path.

I’m ready to declare this BYU offense as Legit

Aim higher. A semifinal!!
— Nicole Auerbach ? (@NicoleAuerbach) October 3, 2020
Related: Ostensibly, this is a good year for BYU to make a run at an NY6 spot because there should be lots of at-large spots available with the Rose and Sugar are hosting semifinals. When those game aren't semifinals, they are obligated to take B1G/P12 and SEC/B12.

#BYU’s QB Zach Wilson has ridiculous passing ability! So much improvement over last season

the way zach wilson runs, scrambles, avoids sacks, throws accurately on the run… reminds me a bit of his older brother, russell.

Holy smokes, maybe we should be taking about BYU QB Zach Wilson.

The LA Tech touchdown was the best thing that could have happened to @BYUfootball tonight and specifically @TroWarner. Instant turnaround and he’s been a terror ever since.

If punters were like QBs, Ryan Rehkow would transfer to a bad team for reps.
Three punts this season in three games.
Barely used but he's been awesome.

This is what BYU football should look like when facing G5’s.
The Toledo, USF, SDSU and Hawaii performances last year were unacceptable.
Kalani has this team ballin’ out.
