Through the first two weeks of October, six teams that have been ranked in the top 10 have lost with five of the six squads falling to unranked teams. Last week Iowa State shocked then-No. 3 Oklahoma, and Michigan State took down then- No. 7 Michigan in the Big House once again.
Then on Friday night — Friday the 13th — Syracuse defeated No. 2 Clemson at home 27–24, and the California Golden Bears smashed No. 8 Washington State, 37-3.
On Saturday, Arizona State picked up one of its biggest wins in program history as the Sun Devils took down No. 5 Washington 13-7. And to round out the evening, LSU, which already has an embarrassing homecoming loss to Troy this season, rallied to beat No. 10 Auburn, 27-23, at Tiger Stadium.
