NBA: Alec Burks leads Utah Past Denver For Season-Opening Win In Newly Renovated Vivint Arena

Playing its first home game of the season in the newly renovated Vivint Smart Home Arena Wednesday night, the Utah Jazz came out flat before putting on a show in the second half to rally from a double-digit deficit to win its season-opening game.

Rudy Gobert led the Jazz with a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds to give the Jazz a 106-96 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

Utah’s Derrick Favors chipped in with 14 points, four rebounds and four assists and Joe Ingles added 11 points, six assists, five rebounds and was 3-of-5 from downtown.

But it was the Alec Burks show in the second half as the sharp-shooter took over in the fourth quarter. Despite only playing 15 minutes as he comes back from another injury plagued season last year, the veteran out of Colorado still had 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 2-for-2 from downtown.

Joe Johnson got the comeback going as he sunk a crazy 3-point shot as time expired to cut into Denver’s lead heading into the fourth quarter.

From that point on, Denver didn’t have a chance as the Jazz outscored the Nuggets 28-13 to finish the game. Here’s all the best reactions from Wednesday’s big win:
