It finally happened.
No. 16 UMBC knocked off No. 1 Virginia during the first round of the NCAA tournament with an absolutely stunning 74-54 victory Friday night.
With the historic win, UMBC became just the first ever No. 16 seed to defeat a No. 1 seed. And for the cherry on top, it was the Retrievers’ first NCAA Tournament win in just the program’s second appearance.
Here are some of the best reactions to the historic win, including the brilliant mind who was running the school’s social media pages.

Following UMBC's historic win, there are zero perfect brackets remaining in ESPN's Tournament Challenge.
That's out of 17.3 million entries.
