Utah’s Joe Ingles recently signed a four-year $52 million deal to stay with the Jazz on Saturday, but what he did just days before the NBA’s free agent signing period was truly a sight to behold.
During the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Los Angles Clippers this year, Ingles was introduced to Landon Carter. The 7-year-old, who is legally blind with a condition known as Aniridia, was given a pair of high-tech glasses to test out during Game 3.
The technology, called eSight, uses a high-speed, high-definition camera that projects the video feed on two LED screens in front of the users’ eyes. Because Carter was born without irises, everything is blurry to him unless he is just inches away.

While Game 3 was a special one for Carter, he, unfortunately, had to give the $10,000 dollar glasses back at the end of the night.
But that didn’t go unnoticed as Ingles made sure the glasses became a permanent fix for the youngster this past weekend.
After the family was invited back to Vivint Smart Home Arena, Ingles surprised Carter and delivered the good news.
“It’s like turning on the light. When I put glasses on, it’s like poof, I can see everything,” Carter said in an interview with KUTV.com. “Joe Ingles is like, my buddy now.”

After being waived by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2014, the Jazz picked up the Australian and haven’t looked back. Ingles has turned into a star, but more importantly, didn’t let it go to his head.
Not only does Carter have a new friend, but he has a new view of life too.
