He’s baaaaaack.
Tom Brady — the four-time Super Bowl champ — is set to make his return Sunday when the New England Patriots go on the road to face the Cleveland Browns.
Brady, who has been serving a four-game “Deflategate” suspension, returns with open arms to a franchise that is coming off a 16-0 loss at home to the Buffalo Bills.
Brady was just 16 years old the last time the Patriots were shut out and it marked just the ninth time in Pats history that they’ve been held scoreless.
Despite being without its future Hall of Famer the past four weeks, the Patriots still managed to go 3-1 despite being down to its third-string quarterback.
Despite the success, players can’t wait to see Brady back under center on Sunday.
“It’s going to be great,” wide receiver Julian Edelman told reporters.” Anytime one of your best players isn’t there, there’s something missing.”
It doesn’t take much to get Brady going and tight end Martellus Bennett believes the four-game suspension will only add fuel heading into Sunday’s game.
“You can’t play this game without a chip on your shoulder,” Bennett told reporters. “Whether there’s guys that got cut, guys that got traded, guys that feel like they got passed up by other teams … to play this game, you’ve got to have a chip.
“Everybody’s chip is a little bit different. It’s like Lay’s, I guess … You might be a BBQ guy, you might be a sour cream & onion guy, but as long as you have your chip, that’s what gets you through the game.”
They’ll be plenty of chips come Sunday as fantasy football fans will likely be celebrating a big day from Brady. The Browns are double-digit underdogs despite being at home.
