The Pac-12 Conference dismal bowl performance continued as No. 11 Washington fell 35-28 to No. 9 Penn State Saturday night in the Fiesta Bowl.

The loss, dropped the “Conference of Champions” bowl record to 1-8 while the Big Ten continued its perfect streak at 7-0 this season.

Penn State QB Trace McSorley completed 32 of 41 passes for 342 yards and connected with DaeSean Hamilton on both of his touchdown passes to lead the Nittany Lions to victory.

Penn State led from start to finish as th eNitatny Lions raced out to a 28-7 midway through the second quarter. Washington was finally able to wake up from its offensive slumber as Myles Gaskins raced 69 yards to pull the Huskies within a touchdown at 35-28. But that’s as close as they would get as Washington turnover the ball over near midfield with six seconds left in the game.

Penn State racked up 545 yards of total offense which was the most the Huskies have allowed all season.

Junior running back Saquon Barkley rushed for a game-high 137 yards and two touchdowns on just 18 carries for an average of 7.6 yards per carry.

Washington was playing in its first-ever trip to the Fiesta Bowl but came up short. The Huskies were led by junior running back Myles Gaskin who rushed for 98 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns in the loss.
