Dak Prescott completed 15 of 20 passes for just 212 yards, but made them count as the rookie tossed three touchdowns in the Cowboys’ 42-21 victory over the Detroit Lions Monday night at AT&T Stadium.

Prescott become just the second player in league history (tying Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger) for the most wins (13) by a rookie quarterback.

The win was the seven consecutive home victory for the Cowboys (13-2) and kept the Lions (9-6) from securing a playoff spot heading into the final game of the regular season next week.

Former Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott had another solid outing as the rookie ran for a game-high 80 yards to go with two touchdowns on just 12 carries. Elliott, the NFL rushing leader, had a 55-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and now has 15 rushing touchdowns on the year to set a franchise record.

Dez Bryant chipped in with 70 yards receiving and two touchdowns and also threw his first touchdown pass of his career. Bryant moved into second place with his 66th touchdown grab to move past Hall of Famer Michael Irvin on Dallas’ career TD receptions list.

Bryant also showed off his passing skills as he took a reverse pitch from Prescott and faked a beautiful run before pulling up and hitting tight end Jason Witten for an easy 10-yard score in the second half.

With their 13th regular season win, the Cowboys tied a franchise record in victories which has been set two other times.
