BYU and Utah are facing off in a Top 25 showdown and the stakes couldn’t be higher — and neither could the prices.
The Cougars come into Saturday’s contest undefeated and ranked No. 15 in the country. Meanwhile, the Utes are 5-1 — their only loss to No. 7 Texas Tech — and are ranked No. 23 nationally.
Saturday’s game will also be the first time since 2009 that both teams meet in the rivalry game ranked in the Top 25. This Saturday also features a loaded slate of games with five ranked matchups. Yet, no ticket is more expensive than BYU-Utah.

But it makes sense. Saturday’s Top 25 showdown is rare for the rivalry, and the winner will have an excellent shot at making the Big 12 title game later this year. And if they win in Arlington, a trip to the College Football Playoff — a program first — will be in store for either team.
I went looking at every major online ticket marketplace (Vivid, Seatgeek, Ticketmaster, StubHub, TickPick, etc.) to see what the minimum price was for tickets. As of Wednesday afternoon, prices were: $347, $374, $386, $393, $400 for an average of $380.
Obviously, prices fluctuate throughout the day and can change, however, if that average holds ($380), that would make the Holy War as the third most expensive game in all of college football this year.
I've looked at a bunch of sites (Vivid, Seatgeek, Ticketmaster, StubHub, TickPick) and the average ticket is between $347-$400.

Yes, more expensive than Texas-Oklahoma and Georgia-Tennessee, as well as Miami-Florida State and Georgia-Auburn just to name a few big games this year.
And for those new to the rivalry, yes, it’s worth it. The passion, high stakes, and down-to-the wire finishes — I’ve lost track how many games come down to the final play — are second to none. No other rivalry has had as many last-second finishes as the Holy War has over the past three decades.
For Big 12 fans across the league, this is another example of an elite conference rivalry that the conference needs to continue to spotlight. Thankfully this year, the game will be broadcasted on national television (FOX) in primetime. With Texas and Oklahoma now gone, BYU and Utah have picked up the torch for the Big 12.
