Should we give him the Heisman Trophy already?

Oklahoma senior quarterback Baker Mayfield put on another show during Saturday’s Big 12 Championship game against No. 11 TCU at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Mayfield completed 15 of 23 passes for 243 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Sooners to a 41-17 blowout victory and punch Oklahoma’s ticket to the College Football Playoff.

Mayfield, a Heisman front-runner, did more than enough to keep him atop the Heisman list as he also added 65 yards on the ground as he lit of the TCU defense for the second consecutive time. In two games against the Horned Frogs, Mayfield has thrown for 559 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions.

So far this season, Mayfield has totaled 4,340 yards passing and 41 touchdowns to go with just five interceptions.

With the win, Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley (34), who is the youngest head coach, becomes just the fifth coach in FBS history with no previous head coaching experience at a four-year college to win at least 12 games in his first season.
