Rudy Gobert takes Warriors gear, slams Golden State one last time

Despite playing just four games in the short playoff series, the Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors sure provided some memorable moments.

Before the series even began, jabs started flying as Golden State players said they were pulling for the Clippers to win the series against the Jazz because of the “lack of nightlife” in Salt Lake City. That of course, prompted Jazz management to come up with “nightlife” shirts with the money going to support cancer research.

There was also the time when Draymond Green even signed a poster for one Jazz fan who brought a sign that kept a running tally of Green’s “flops” with his “Draymond Green flop count” poster.

But what happened Monday night was truly the cherry on top in the series.

After the Warriors completed the sweep, Utah’s Gordon Hayward was given a standing ovation from the home crowd, players shook hands and exchanged hugs, but for Jazz center Rudy Gobert, it involved slamming the Warriors one last time.

After talking with Golden State assistant coach Mike Brown near midcourt — who has been filling in for head coach Steve Kerr throughout the playoffs — Gobert started walking back towards the Jazz locker room.

However, after seeing Golden State point guard Ian Clark — who played two seasons with the Jazz a couple of years ago — the 7-foot-1 Frenchman caught his old teammate by surprise as you can see in the video above.

After Clark finished speaking with Jazz head coach Quin Snyder, the point guard turned around right as Gobert ripped his headband off and threw it into the crowd. The “Stifle Tower” then gave him a glare before walking off the court as fans chanted “Ruuuuuuuudy.”

Safe to say, it doesn’t look like they’ll be hanging out anytime soon. As for Clark, at least he’s headed to the Western Conference finals.
