Big Noon Kickoff was in Provo, Utah on Saturday ahead of the BYU-Utah Holy War Showdown at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

No. 15 BYU was looking to keep its undefeated season alive, while No. 23 Utah was looking to end the rivalry streak as the Utes haven’t won since 2019. The Cougars would go on to win 24-21, marking yet another Holy War — 21 of the last 27 — which came down to another one possession game.

Saturday marked the second consecutive season that Big Noon Kickoff came to Provo, with BYU going on to win 41-19 over Arizona last year. It was also just the fourth time that BYU and Utah have matched up as ranked opponents, with the last time coming in 2009.

Students and fans camped out overnight, and rushed when the gates opened to get a front row spot. Cosmo stole the show last year, and while he didn’t jump out of a plane this time around, he still put on a performance.

Cosmo flipped over some of the FOX crew (Matt Leinart, Mark Ingram), as well as BYU legends Kyle Van Noy and Jamaal Williams. He also zip-lined into the show from the stadium. Then to close out the football show, Cosmo purposefully belly flopped off the Big Noon trailer and into a small inflatable pool. He was quickly joined by Mark Ingram II — a Heisman Trophy winner — as well as host Rob Stone who got thrown in by Ingram.

Urban Meyer made his return to Provo as the former Utah head football coach is now an analyst and part of the Big Noon kickoff crew. The former Ute coached in Salt Lake City from 2003 to 2004, leading the team to a 22-2 overall record and a 2-0 record over BYU before taking the job at Florida. BYU fans made sure to boo him every time he talked.

Last but not least, the festivities and support was beyond expectations for the Big Noon staff. “There’s been nothing like this ever… and I’ve done every Big Noon Kickoff for 7-8 years,” said one of the show directors.
