College Football Playoff Rankings: Miami, Oklahoma Climb; Notre Dame And Georgia Fall

College Football Playoff

After an eventful weekend that saw three top 10 matchups, there was a major shakeup atop the College Football Playoff rankings as Georgia, Notre Dame and TCU all lost.

The Alabama Crimson Tide claimed the top spot followed by No. 2 Clemson, No. 3 Miami, No. 4 Oklahoma in the four-team playoff.

No. 5 Wisconsin and No. 6 Auburn are both on the outside looking in, but made significant jumps as they both picked up big wins over ranked opponents. The Tigers took down then-No. 1 Georgia and Wisconsin took down then-No. 20 Iowa.

Notre Dame, which sat at No. 3 before a blowout loss to then-No. 7 Miami checks in at No. 8, but the Irish’s hopes of making the CFP are likely over. No. 7 Georgia still has a shot as the Bulldogs will likely face No. 1 Alabama in the SEC Championship game in three weeks and a big resume win will likely be enough to put the Bulldogs in.
