BYU does it again!
The Cardiac Cougs rallied for a thrilling 33-27 double overtime victory over Arizona to keep their perfect season alive.
BYU is now 6-0 for the just the seventh time in program history, and also set a program record with back-to-back 6-0 starts. The other 6-0 starts were in: 2020, 2008, 2001, 1984 and 1979.
The game lasted more than 5 hours due to lighting delays, but in the end, the Cougars overpowered the Cats in what was easily one of the best college football games of the weekend.

With the win, BYU is 5-1 in overtime games under head coach Kalani Sitake. The last overtime game took place in 2022 when the Cougars took down Baylor in double overtime.
BYU true freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier didn’t have his best performance, but when the team needed a big play, he provided it as the Cougars rallied from a 24-14 deficit in the fourth quarter, to a double overtime victory.
The dual-threat quarterback completed just 12 of 29 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown, however, he also threw two interceptions. But he got it done on the ground as the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns in the downpour. His 22 carries were also the most by a freshman quarterback in school history.
Running back LJ Martin led the way again as he rushed for a game-high 162 yards and a touchdown. Despite playing off and on due to an injury, the junior made the most of his moments as he averaged 6.5 yards per carry.
Parker Kingston was the lone bright spot at receiver as he had another 100+ yard game as he hauled in 5 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.
Next up for BYU is a Holy War showdown against Utah in what will be a Top 25 showdown!

As heartbreaking of a loss is for Arizona, BYU fans are still the nicest people in the Big 12. We literally were stuck in 6th street garage for 40 mins no cops or Arizona transportation staff but BYU fans got out of cars to help direct traffic and help unlock the gridlock so cars…

BYU’s offensive line won that game.
Literally.
Kyle Sfarcioc covered a fumble that would’ve ENDED that game in regulation.
And THEN they went on to own Arizona’s defensive line in OT.
Andrew Gentry had a pancake on the Bear TD.
Bruce Mitchell killed a guy with a trident.
